The four elements: Water

I have been acquainted lately with the HBO series: Game of Thrones - and it kindled my fire for fantasy stories and creatures. Inspired by mermaids and sea creatures I created this necklace that I give the German name: Meerwesen.

A Walk at the Beach

This is my first try of combining three threads into one necklace. The result amazes me and turns into one of my favorite art work so far. Putting it on with a light summer dress or shirt makes me feel like a walk on the beach.

Summer in the City

With temperatures reaching almost 100°F and a humidity of 50% summer made its way to the city. Light outfits and easy make up call for some colors. I love my new necklace which combines different fashion beads and an easy knotting teachnique.

Teacher Appreciation

Last Saturday the director of my school took us all out for a big relaxing treat: First a pampering manicure and pedicure at Spa O. After that we met at Buca di Beppo - a nice family style restaurant which is the perfect location for larger groups (the small dishes serve 3 people, the large dishes the whole party!).

For this event I prepared something special to show my appreciaton to my boss and my co workers since I enjoyed every single day of working there. I made each one a necklace (haha! go figure!), same basic style but individual colors and different design.

I fancied myself with a necklace that fits my way:

Arbitrary Art

As I save my beads and material in little ziplockbags (Hello Kitty design!), I decided one night to disobay any structure and system. I mixed a few bags of "left-overs", closed my eyes, reached into the bag and stringed (is that a word?! It should be!). I have to say: I am quite impressed with the outcome and it is one of my favorites!

Back to a good idea!

After a long time of thinking how to create the PERFECT piece of jewelry and coming up with thousands of excuses why not just to sit down and bead, I finally threw all doubts and hestitation overboard and came up with something for myself which I call: An Hour of Creation  - big words, but the thought behind it is quite simple: Each day I try to sit down for an hour with my beads and strings and see what the outcome is.
The picture above shows you my very first project after over 2 years. I am very pleased with it and after my first hour of creation I was more than thrilled to go back to beading the next day.
